Chloe Smith is an artist & illustrator based in Rochester, NY. She is an RIT graduate of the BFA Illustration program & studied Painting & Art History in Cortona, Italy. She works primarily as a muralist & street chalk artist, accepting a range of commissions from portraiture & animals to large scale botanical themes. Her personal work primarily focuses on narrating the crossover between the human form, femininity & nature. She often emphasizes the ethereal side of nature by incorporating larger-than-life plant & animal forms into airy, not-quite accurate landscapes. She works primarily in watercolor, colored pencil & acrylics.
"My passion is to transform, to make beautiful that which has gone dormant, unappreciated. I am most excited by the potential in “blank” physical environments. This passion transcends the 2d realm, and oftentimes even traditional artistic disciplines. Empty walls, dilapidated urban manors and vacant lots fill me with energy and inspiration. My life’s work is to bring beauty and new kinetic energy to forgotten spaces, by creating pieces that evolve and take on a life of their own once revived."
